The Lung Association of Nova Scotia thanks you for your recent purchase. All proceeds from the
sales of these books go to support programs and services for children living with asthma. By
purchasing a Golf Club Book you help the Lung Association to develop and deliver two major
programs for children with asthma, the Asthma Aware program, and Camp Treasure Chest.
Asthma Aware is a training program for adults who have children in their care. Similar to first
aid or CPR training program, Asthma Aware will give minor sports coaches, teachers and others
the “need to know” information they require to prevent or support a child’s asthma flare-up,
before it becomes a serious asthma attack.
Camp Treasure Chest, a week-long camp experience for children ages 8-12 years with moderate
to severe asthma, who are unable or unlikely to participate in camps with their peers.
Supervised by a volunteer team of respiratory therapists, nurses, doctors and camp counselors,
this program encourages self-care while building self-confidence and
self-esteem, preparing children with asthma for the exciting life challenges
ahead.
